And yes, sometimes it do feels like that. And there was even a humorous song that was really popular 20 years ago that was called “el negro de la carreta” (“the black man with the cartwagon”) it was about some drunk guys talking about the rumors about a mysterious black man that would take drunk men who are asleep on the streets, load them on his cartwagon and take them to his home to do God-knows-what with them (while they’re still sleeping) only to return them to where he found them on the next morning before they wake up. It’s allegedly based on a true case from many years ago.

Also, it’s kinda bleak your country has such sayings. From your comment, one can think that raping helpless people on the streets is common enough to joke about it. :(

This reminds me of a saying we have in my country: “culo dormido no tiene dueño” (Translation: “an ass that’s asleep has no owner”.
There’s a variation of that same saying: “culo dormido, culo perdido” (“an ass that is asleep is a lost ass”).
Both refer to the dangers of falling asleep on places where you don’t know what is gonna happen to your body while you’re counting counting sheeps; it’s mostly a warning for drunkards.

This reminded me of that.
