Reminds me of a story. I THINK it was the one about a huge number of Pinkie’s being gathered from across the multiverse for a party (much more interesting than it sounds).
In anycase, some Ponies were sneaking though the Canterlot sewers, and they come across a pipe spewing out water that is black with points of light in it, like the night sky. Turns out it is from th castle, and Alicorn excretions are so amazing that when mixed with the ordinary sewage of the mortals of Canterlot, the result is the clean water that forms the waterfalls of from the edges of the city.
I wondered that myself…
