Description

Erica Sinclair – Dragon Hatchling of Hawkins
Species (AU): Dragon hatchling
Age: 9 years old
Family: Lucas Sinclair (older brother, dragon), Mr. & Mrs. Sinclair (dragon parents)
Affiliation: The younger Hawkins crew, often tagging along (and bossing around) the older kids
Personality Traits: Sassy, sharp-witted, prideful, adventurous, resourceful, clever
⸻
Appearance (AU)
Erica is a small dragon hatchling — younger than Lucas, so she’s still in the “half-cute, half-intimidating” stage. Her scales are a shimmering light purple with pink undertones that glint when light hits them. Her wings are underdeveloped — she can glide short distances but can’t fully fly yet. Her tail is long but thin, tipped with a tiny spade-like end.
• Eyes: Bright golden-yellow, always full of mischief.
• Horns: Small budding horns starting to curve backward, showing she’s growing into her draconic heritage.
• Claws: Sharper than they look; she takes pride in polishing them.
• Accessories: Often carries a tiny saddlebag stuffed with snacks, maps, or little treasures she’s “collected” (a.k.a. stolen from Lucas or Dustin).
⸻
Personality
Erica is everything you’d expect from a dragon hatchling with big confidence:
• Sassy & Bold: She’s not afraid to talk back to older ponies, griffins, or even Hopper. She loves teasing Lucas and his friends, often calling them out on their nonsense.
• Clever & Strategic: Though young, Erica is quick-witted and good at spotting weaknesses in plans or people.
• Treasure Greedy: Like most dragons, she has an instinct for collecting shiny objects — she’ll hoard gemstones, coins, or anything that glimmers. Dustin often bribes her with trinkets to get her help.
• Brave but Reckless: Erica wants to prove herself as much as the older kids, which sometimes gets her into dangerous situations.
• Childish Pride: She absolutely hates being called a “baby dragon,” insisting she’s more capable than anyone gives her credit for.
⸻
Abilities
Despite being a young hatchling, Erica shows strong dragon abilities:
• Fire Breathing: She can produce short bursts of pinkish-orange fire — usually small flames, but dangerous enough. She brags about it constantly.
• Gliding: Her wings aren’t strong enough for true flight yet, but she can glide off rooftops, trees, or Hopper’s roof (to his dismay).
• Keen Senses: Excellent hearing and sharp eyesight, letting her spot details others miss.
• Hoards & Negotiations: Like many dragons, she has a knack for bartering — often demanding payment before helping. “You can’t spell America without Erica” becomes “You can’t spell dragon without Erica.”
⸻
Role in the Group
• With Lucas: Erica drives him crazy. She constantly calls him out, yet underneath, she looks up to him and secretly admires his courage. She especially loves embarrassing him in front of Max.
• With Dustin: She latches onto Dustin (the hippogriff/seapony) as a sort of sidekick/buddy, especially after discovering she has a knack for adventuring too. Dustin fuels her ego by calling her “a natural-born adventurer.”
• With the Party: She forces her way into their adventures by sheer persistence — and usually proves useful despite her age.
• With Adults: Hopper and Joyce find her exhausting but hilarious. Hopper once described her as “a fire-breathing headache in scales.”
⸻
AU-Specific Moments
• Festival Hoards: At Hawkins’ Equestrian fairs, she raids game booths for prizes, hiding them in a makeshift “hoard” under her bed.
• Vecna Arc: Erica’s small size allows her to sneak into places the others can’t. She actually helps uncover critical information by crawling through cracks in corrupted roots.
• With Dustin’s Seapony Form: Erica teases him endlessly when he turns into a seapony, calling him “fish-boy.” Dustin retaliates by calling her “lizard-breath.” They secretly adore the banter.
• Sibling Rivalry: When Lucas starts mastering his dragon powers (flame bursts, tougher scales), Erica becomes jealous and doubles down on training her own fire breath.
⸻
Strengths
• Sharp-tongued and fearless — no one intimidates her.
• Observant; she notices things the older kids miss.
• Fiercely independent, doesn’t let her size stop her.
• Natural negotiator — good at cutting deals, even with older creatures.
Weaknesses
• Overconfident, sometimes bites off more than she can chew.
• Still a hatchling — weaker fire breath, small wings.
• Can be selfish or greedy, hoarding shiny things instead of focusing on the bigger picture.
• Teases others so much that she sometimes hurts feelings without realizing it.
⸻
Relationships in the AU
• Lucas Sinclair (Dragon): Annoying older brother she secretly admires.
• Dustin Henderson (Hippogriff/Seapony): Her “partner-in-crime” for schemes and adventuring.
• Max Mayfield (Griffin): Erica respects Max’s confidence but also sees her as a rival for Lucas’s attention.
• El (Yak): Erica is fascinated by El’s telekinesis and often challenges her to silly contests (“Who can crush a rock faster, fire breath or magic mind?”).
• Nancy & Robin (Unicorns): Erica considers them “boring older ponies,” but secretly wants to impress them.
• Hopper (Earth Pony): The authority figure who scolds her the most. Erica likes to sass him back.
⸻
Famous Erica Lines in This AU
• “You can’t spell dragon without E-R-I-C-A!”
• “Baby dragon? Say that again and I’ll roast your tail.”
• “Pay me in gems or I’m not helping. That’s the deal.”
• “Lucas, you’re such a drama dragon. Relax.”
⸻
✨ In this AU, Erica Sinclair is the tiny but mighty dragon hatchling of Hawkins — underestimated because of her age, but always finding a way to leave her mark on the adventure.
